Kefee - "No be Sapele water" New Video

The official video of "No be Sapele water by Kefee has finally been released. The audio version was released a while back but it has not actually enjoyed much airplay. To many who may not  understand the concept "sapele Water", it is basically a local slang for alcohol.

The gospel diva is simply preaching the gospel of  "It's the spirit of God in me that makes me high not alcohol". The video is quite alright but the dancers did a good job of spicing it up. Enjoy!

Maye Hunta - "Owo Faaji" New Video

When the song "Ekaette" hit the music scene a while back, many  began to wonder who Maye Hunta was. Well, as of now, Maye is no stranger to every music lover. He has just released the video of another single "Owo Faaji" on his already released album "Mayefestation".

Maye's new video is quite nice and has got this very funny storyline. Some scenes in the video  had cameo appearances from Omo Baba, Zara and Uti of BIg Brother.  Not  bad at all. Enjoy!

Ice Prince ft Brymo- "Oleku Official Video"

Just few weeks ago, the unofficial video of Ice Prince's Oleku got leaked and everyone was buzzing with details of it. Well the official video has finally been released. This new video is basically an edited version of the unofficial video with little noticeable difference.

To be candid, this video is far below my expectation because i was really looking forward to something much more exceptional. Some scenes in the video looked like Ice Prince was doing a clumsy job of lip synching. This  video is not befitting for a song that was named one of the most popular songs of 2010. Enjoy! (If you can).

Mo"Cheddah - "No be Money" Brand New Video

Mo"Cheddah's "No be Money" video has finally been released. No be money, is one of the tracks on her debut album "Franchise Celebrity" which was released sometime last year.  This single is really cool and i must say is one of the best on her debut album. In this song, Mo"Cheddah is saying, she is in a relationship for love and not for the things money can buy. She portrays this, in her newly released animated video.

The fact that this video is animated even makes it more interesting and fun to watch. Enjoy!

Funbi - Clockwork

Many may not know who Funbi is, but his music is gradually gaining popularity. Funbi is an RnB artiste currently signed on to TopLeft Entertainment.  He released two singles "Superstar ft Loose Kaynon and Ice Prince" and "It's you i see" in the last quarter of 2010 and has just dropped the video of his single "clockwork".

This video which is directed by Walt Banger is Funbi's first ever video. His style of music can be likened to that of Usher and Trey song which i quite admire. I hope to hear more of Funbi this 2011.  Enjoy!

Sauce Kid ft Meaku - Neijei's Song New Video

Popular for his "E bariba Samboribobo" song, Sauce Kid has just dropped a new video. This video is for one of the singles on his already released album "African American". Apparently Sauce Kid  has a beautiful little girl  and "Neijei's song" is a song done in honour of her.

This is clearly another side to the "Under G " crooner that is not known to many. Thumbs up bro! Enjoy!

Tiwa savage on another level!

When word got out that Tiwa Savage had been nominated for Grammys Award, i was really surprised because, her only song i seem to be familiar with at the moment is "Kele kele love". But then i started asking around and the actual story was that " a song she cowrote for Fantasia, an American artiste was up for nominations in the RnB category at the Grammys (so, false alarm).

But really, this is quite an achievement for our very own Tiwa, though the nominated song "Collard greens and cornbread"  did not win the award. She is currently signed on to Sony/ATV Publishing and the other song writers she co wrote with are Warren Felder, Andrew Wansel, Nickolas Ashford and Valeria Simpson. Tiwa savage is sure doing us proud and i can't wait to see what more she has up her sleeves. Below is Tiwa savage and Fantasia's version of "Collard green and cornbread" .  Lets see who did it better! Enjoy!

Anis Halloway - "We nor want dat" New Video

If you are conversant with the on going Nigerian Idols, then i am sure you have an idea of who Anis Halloway is.  Halloway had his first taste of limelight in Nigeria when he was one of the contestants in the second season of MTN Project Fame, West Africa.

This everly eloquent presenter actually started his music career back in the UK. when he released a single titled "Eyes on me" which did pretty well. His newly released video "We nor want dat" which is directed by NODASH is one of the singles on his debut album "Small Beginnings" The video of "we nor want dat" captures the horrendous and violent crimes that occured during the Sierra Leonean civil war. Anis relieves the pandemonium and killings of that era and therefore cries that "we no want dat anymore".

This is a nice song but i must admit that this video is quite terrifying. It is nice to know that Anis is still pursuing his music career. Enjoy!

Timi Dakolo - Let it Shine New Video

Timi dakolo is no stranger to the  Nigerian Music scene. You can remember vividly that he won the 2007 edition of Idols West Africa placing Omawumi Magbenle in second position. Well. Timi seems to be back on the scene again as he released the video of his song "Let it shine". Let it shine is a single off his forthcoming album which is slated for release sometime in 2011.

In "let it shine",Timi talks about all the sufferings and challenges he had to go through as a young child. The song preaches the gospel of relentless hardwork and inspiring words of hope as the key to success. This video is not bad at all and can help to lift one's spirit. More grease to your elbow Timi Dakolo, 2007 Idols West Africa voters did not vote in vain! enjoy!

P- Square ft 2face - Possibility Video Premiere

Wow, this took like forever to be released! The video of "Possibility" has finally been premiered. This single  is one of the tracks off Psquare's last album "Danger" which was released sometime in 2009.  My hopes concerning the duo shooting this video was dashed when nothing came out all through last year, so pardon my surprise.

"Possibility" is one of my favourite songs of 2009 and most part of 2010, not because of the artistes, but because of the message the song itself passes across. It is an incredibly beautiful song that explores the appreciation of the black race in terms of beauty and strength. The newly released video did justice to the song because it captured the message of the song adequately. I really love the scenes where people waved at P square and 2baba as they passed by on the streets because of the nostalgic feelings it evoked. The rhythm of the beat is subtle and yet appealing.

This is one nice video and the director, Jude "Engees" Okoye couldn't have come up with a better concept, if he tried. Looking forward to many more from them.

Naeto C- Ten over Ten Shikena

Definitely, things are not the same anymore.  Naeto C has finally released the video of his hit song, "Ten over Ten". This single which premiered sometime last year made so much wave that it became a slang for both the young and old. Naeto C's  latest album "Super C" was also released few days ago alongside his new website www.naetoc.com .

The video of 10/10 was directed by Bobby Boulders and shot on the streets of Lawanson. This video shows a different side of our very own "super C".  In  10/10, Naeto C talks about getting to the high point of accomplishment in all ramifications. He depicts his high level of street credibility by throwing more light on the "street" side of lagos. He has shown that freshness is not a limitation to street acceptance.

This is another wonderful video from Naeto C, though not what i expected in terms of concept. Thumbs up to you Boss. Shikena! Enjoy!

D'Banj ft Snoop Dogg- Mr Endowed Remix

The most anticipated video of probably the whole of 2011 is finally here. What many thought was just another Nigerian music industry farce is now a reality and a very fabulous reality at that. The "Mr. Endowed video by D'banj was released few hours ago and since then my blackberry has not stopped alerting me for messages. It's  not like  this is the first time a Nigerian artiste would do a collaboration with an international artiste, but what makes a difference this time is the magnitude of the two artistes. D'banj is one of Nigeria's finest ever and Snoop Dogg is well "The Snoop Dogg of America".

This video is directed by the ever talented Sesan Ogunro who is popular for directing practically all Mo Hits videos and the videos of many other Nigerian artistes. The beat of this remix is what i will simply describe as "off the chain" . It is more laid back and way classier than the normal Mr. Endowed. It is evident from scene one to the last, that so much attention was paid to every minuscule detail. The mansion where the video was shot is most beautiful and magnificient. All the costumes used in the video are most exquisite and the video girls  (as is customary to the Dogg Father, Snoop Dogg) were simply hot hot hot.

One of my best scenes is the part where D'banj handed over Snoop's Nigerian passport which had Snoop's name as Baba Aja Oluwasnoop, (i find this totally hilarious by the way). I must also add that i'm so impressed with the fact that the American style did not overshadow the Nigerian culture which is obvious in D'banj's brown native attire during the bathroom scene. However, i really do hope Americans won't take offence  at the fact that the currency they hold in esteem was depicted as a tissue roll in one of the scenes.

In all, this video is just awesome and has set a standard for all other Nigerian artistes to step up to. Totally worth the hype! Oseeeeeeeee! Enjoy!

Flavour- "Woman is gone" New Video

The name "Flavour" in the music scene brings to your mind highlife , a very strong and merry genre of music in Nigeria. Flavour, who is known for songs like N'Abania, Oyinatum, Osondi owendi, has a huge fan base spanning from the east to the West of the country. Walking through the streets of lagos, one can hear Flavour's music being blasted through the speakers of car stereos and road side DJs.

However, from my perspective, this single seems to be falling short of the standard Flavour's past songs have set. The content of the music is quite shallow and empty and the video which parades some half naked lady is not any better. I guess am trying to say the video does not capture the essence of the song itself. As one of flavour's biggest fan, i must say i am really rooting for him and praying that his next video will be way better than this one. Enjoy!

Djinee- "My Pillow" and "Thank you"

Love seems to be in the air as so many artistes keep releasing love songs in this first quarter of the year. Djinee has just released two singles "Thank you" and "My Pillow". These songs were previously released on his self titled album which was released a while back but they didnt get to enjoy much airplay.

"Thank you" is basicaly a song of appreciation for a loved one while "My Pillow" explores ways of caring for a loved one. Djinee reminds me once again of the reason i fell in love with his style of music in the first place. Djinee is truly blessed with a beautiful voice. However, in "Thank you", his voice and the instrumental seem to b at a conflict. Looking forward to what he has to offer  us in the rest of 2011. Enjoy!

Lynxxx ft Banky W- "Alabukun" brand new video

The much anticipated video of Lynxxx's "Alabukun" which features Mr. Capable is finally here. Alabukun is the third single off Lynxxx's recently released album titled "This is Lynxxx". This video is Lynxxx's second video since he ventured into the music business and it is directed by Tom Robson and Syndik8 films which is Lynnxxx's production company.

The alabukun most Nigerians are familiar with is a popular pain relieving powder,so Lynxxx is telling his lover he wants to relieve her of whatever pain she might be going through. In his own words, he explains that " The video of Alabukun was premiered just in time for valentine's day as a special treat for his female fans across Africa. According to Lynxxx, "Alabukun" is the perfect song for the month of february because it is simply a time when people celebrate love and affection. It's a tasteful video for the grown and sexy and i hope the audience has as much fun watching it as i did shooting it". This is a beautiful music for all RnB lovers. Enjoy!

This  single  stands in a class of its own with deep literature and rhythm .The video features Paul of P square and i must say it is well put together. This song is definitely a keeper and the hook just seems to stick to one's head. Moyeen- "Follow my dreams" New Video

The video of Moyeen's "Follow my Dreams" has finally been released. Follow my dreams, which is a single off her yet to be released album, was released in 2010.

This latest single is an inspirational song that explores the struggles of following one's passion. The concept of the video is created in such a way that it brings the music to life. It portrays people from different works of life being changed down, unable to bring their dreams to reality. Moyeen's debut album is slated for release sometime this year and i really can't wait to se what more she has to offer! We are proud of you Moyeen! Enjoy!
